Claudia Cano, MSN, WHNP-C, APRN
Claudia is originally from Colombia, South America.
She
graduated from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN with a Bachelor of Arts in
Communications in 1987.
After a career in Advertising and Public Relations, she returned to
her undergraduate alma mater and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1992.
Following, she obtained a Master in Science in Nursing specializing in Women's Health and
High Risk Perinatal Nursing in 1994.During her graduate studies, where she graduated with
honors, Ms. Cano was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, International.
Ms. Cano is board
certified in Women's Health with the National Certification Corporation. Her previous work
experience includes community health, research, and as clinical director for various medical
practices in the community. She owned and operated a nurse-led clinic in Gainesville, GA,
Clinica Familiar, up until 2004 for women who are underserved and uninsured. She then
entered the non-profit sector where she is currently the Director of Grant Park Family Health
Center, known also as Grant Park Clinic.
While at Grant Park Clinic, Ms. Cano has expanded
her clinical experience to care for all adults throughout the lifespan. Devoted to her
professional goal of empowering individuals and families through education and preventative
care, she directs the Grant Park Clinic program as a medical ministry bringing primary care
services and lifestyle coaching to the needy in our community.
Ms. Cano makes it a priority to
give back to the community by precepting undergraduate and graduate students in programs
throughout Georgia, as well as participating in opportunities in clinical research
projects.
Outside of work, Ms. Cano enjoys her family, four children and pets, hiking,
gardening, reading and cooking. She is a lifelong learner, currently enrolled in Hebraic studies
with Yeshiva Shuvu International, as well as pursuing affiliation as a Diplomat in Lifestyle
Medicine from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Ms. Cano attends Tikvat David in
Roswell, a Messianic Jewish synagogue.
